Antique rare silver-plated drop trap made in England by Sheffield craftsman Richard Richardson in the late 19th or early 20th century. This delightful sample is suspended from the neck of a decanter or bottle on a chain for filtering. After bottling, the decanter is installed vertically, and all accidental drops are trapped in the catcher, thereby preventing stains or spilling onto the table or stand.
The drip trap is in excellent antique condition (see photos and videos).
